Black and White

I began my interest in photography in a black and white darkroom way back in the mid 1970s.  I continue to appreciate the emphasis on the shapes, textures, and tones that are enhanced by B&W images, providing a timeless look that is more effective without the distraction of color.  Some of these images were shot in the "olden days" of B&W film, while others were taken digitally and converted to B&W.  I usually plan B&W photos when evaluating a scene, although sometimes when editing, I find that a photo will be more successful as a B&W image.
